In November 2014, Iraq issued a stamp series and a sheetlet commemorating 50 years of Iraqi-Japanese diplomatic relations. The 500 Dinar stamp of the series had the Arabic inscription improperly aligned, while the two other stamps and the sheetlet had the same inscription aligned as intended.

Nonetheless all three stamps (30000 copies each) and the sheetlet (3000 copies) were released to the public. In February 2015 however, the Iraqi Post issued a corrected replacement for the 500 Dinar stamp with 10000 copies
