In 1950, the GDR issued a picture postcard series, one of which read: “Die Wartburg, wo Luther die einheitliche deutsche Schriftsprache schuf, mahnt zur Einheit Deutschlands”, translating to: The Wartburg where Luther created the unified German written language exhorts the reunification of Germany. The used word “wo” was considered grammatically wrong and thus a corrected issue was launched, reading: „Die Wartburg, auf der Luther die einheitliche deutsche Schriftsprache schuf, mahnt zur Einheit Deutschlands“.
