Arab Literacy Day
On January 8, 1983, the UAE issued a stamp set with 2 x 2 identical motives, colored differently. Two of the stamp featured an open Koran book. Since imaging holy relics and individuals is undesirable in the Islamic religion, the two stamps were withdrawn after 6 days. The other two stamps were not affected.
