Minerals And Mining
On November 16, 1989, South West Africa issued definitive stamps featuring minerals and mining. The 18c stamp pictured the uranium mineral “Boldwoodite”. The chemical formula K(H3O)(UO2)(SiO4) given on the stamp for the mineral was wrong. A corrected stamp with the formula K2(UO2)2(SiO3)2(OH2).5H20 was issued on October 25, 1990.
