On Sepetmber 23, 1986, the US Post issued a stamp as part of the “Great Americans” definitives commemorating rabbi Bernard Revel (1886-1940). While the stamps were already sold, it was noticed that the stamp designer (Kenneth Kipperman) had a small Star of David hidden in the beard of the portrait. This was neither ordered nor authorised. For the stamp itself there was no consequence.
