Robland

In 2006, the Belgian TV channel VTM ran the series "Robland". It was hosted by comedian Rob Vanoudenhoven. On April 10, 2006, Vanoudenhoven "invaded" the municipality of Gingelom to declare "Robland" as an independent micronation. He proclaimed himself King Rob I.

Due to difficulties, Vanoudenhoven "moved" Robland to the village of Wijgmaal with a size of 1.5 km2. Vanoudenhoven sent a declaration of independence to the Belgian Prime Minister, attempted recognition at the United Nations, appointed his own Cabinet of Ministers, and printed his own coins, calling the currency "Robbie". In fact, the coins were available for purchase at a branch of a Belgian bank. The Belgium Post issued a postcard with a stamp valid for postage and a "fancy stamp" with Rob. I. Allegedly, the card was only valid for one day and only to the TV station VTM.
