On November 13, 2008, the German Post issued two Christmas stamps. A small number of sheets of the 55+25 Cent face value stamps suffered a misperforation of 6 mm to the right. The affected sheets were delivered unrecognized to post offices in the middle of the sheet package. Once the error became known post offices were ordered to not sell the sheets. Some had however already been sold and not all post offices complied with the order.
