Colonel Gaddafi

On January 1, 1986, Libya issued a definitive stamp set featuring Colonel Gaddafi (1942-2011), who ruled Libya dictatorially from 1969-2011, first as head of state (1969-1979), then as revolutionary leader. On the right epaulette of the uniform there was a six-pointed star, in which similarity with the Jewish Star of David was seen. Therefore, the stamps were withdrawn 2 hours after the start of sales. Only the 60 Dirham stamp was allegedly on sale, the other stamps did not, before the withdrawal, make it for sale.
