In May 1985 the People’s Republic of Benin intended to issue a stamp commemorating the 40 years anniversary of the Soviet Troops’ victory in the “Great Patriotic War”. The stamp is not registered with a normal catalogue number, but Michel lists the stamp as “A 398”. The number 398 itself represents a different stamp. The circumstances of this stamp are unclear. It was either unissued (but then should have a roman numbering in Michel) or it was withdrawn in some form.
