Akureyri

On May 3, 2012, Iceland issued a stamp commemorating the 150th anniversary of the settlement of Akureyri in the north of the island. Today Akureyri is the fourth largest town in Iceland with about 18000 inhabitants (2019). On the stamp, the date of the 150th anniversary was "29.08 2012", hence a dot missing. A corrected version was subsequently issued in 2012. The editions were 120000 and 100000 stamps respectively.
