Presidential Visit

On October 8, 1983, South Korea issued a series of stamps and sheetlets commemorating South Korean President Chun Doo Hwan's visit of 5 Asian and Oceanian countries. On October 9, 1983 a bomb exploded in the Burmesian capital Rangoon targeting the President. While he was unharmed 21 people were killed and 46 injured. The tour was cancelled and the stamps withdrawn on October 10, 1983.
