On January 4, 2013, France issued a “Chinese Year of the Snake” stamp. Due to a change in postal rates on January 1, 2013, for a domestic priority letter up to 20 grams from 0.60€ to 0.63€, the stamp had the new face value imprinted.  Erroneously though, a number of stamps had also been printed with the old face value. The mistake was noticed quickly, nonetheless some of the stamps had already been delivered to post offices and apparently a limited amount got sold.
