On October 3, 1996, a special postmark was issued on the occasion of the ceremonial act of the Bavarian State Government on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the German Unification. However, it read “Bayerische Landesregierung” (Bavarian Federal Government) instead of “Bayerische Staatsregierung” (Bavarian State Government). The special cancel was immediately withdrawn and replaced by a corrected special cancel.
